Welcome to the Neighborhood!

Welcome to The Indian Trails Homeowner Association Website!

The Indian Trails Community is located in beautiful Palm Harbor, Florida, not far from the Gulf of Mexico.  Our subdivision was first established in 1978 and now consists of 148 homes. The Indian Trails Homeowner Association, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation purposed to preserve and enhance the quality of life and standards of our neighborhood.  These goals are accomplished through formal rules, by-laws, covenants, and deed restrictions, which require compliance by each member household.  Each year an all-volunteer Board of Directors is chosen to represent the members at regularly scheduled Board meetings.  The Board elects officers and appoints heads of the various committees, who in turn, appoint committee members subject to Board approval.  An annual mandatory Assessment fee supports the mission of the Association and is due on or before the first day of January.  This annual assessment, currently $198.00, and any approved special assessment fees are mandatory and can result in late fees, fines, liens or foreclosure against a member household if not paid in full on time.  The Corporation is mandated and compliant to Florida Statutes Title XL Chapter 720 Homeowner Associations

Solicitors

We have been seeing a lot of aggressive salespeople in the neighborhood recently, and had some concerns about possible thieves, home invasions or other scams from these door to door solicitors.  Our Security Committee has devised a letter that should be handed to ANY solicitor that comes to your door to help deter door to door sales people. As stated in this letter:

"The first sign you pass when entering the neighborhood reads: “No Soliciting.”  Indian Trails is designated as “no soliciting” for good reason – to help provide a safe neighborhood.  It is in our best interests to prohibit strangers from wandering uninvited from house to house.

Unfortunately, the real intent of some “solicitors” is to gain access to our homes or steal our property. Knocking on doors provides a perfect environment for more sinister opportunities such as burglary or home invasions.  Indian Trails homeowners have been the victims of these tactics.  It is simply not possible for homeowners to distinguish the legitimate business people from the bad guys, so our best protection is to restrict all solicitors."

Click here for a Microsoft Word version of the letter or here for a Adobe PDF version to print out and hand out to ANY sales person that may ring your doorbell. If you wish to follow up, send this letter to the compant that sent the solicitor to our neighborhood. Please remind the solicitor that our neighborhood has a strict "no soliciting" policy as you hand them the letter. If they do not leave the neighborhood, feel free to contact the County Sheriff (Non Emergency Report - County Sheriff 582-6200) to assist. Check on the LINKS page for more information about the County Sheriff Crimeview page. This page lists current and past criminal activity throughout the county. You can check on current calls, or see incidents that happened recently around the area.
